Pablo Picasso, Nous autres Musiciens, 1921

I am a PhD candidate in psychology at University College London, researching the sublime. An ardent CD collector and concert goer, I find much fascination in symphonic music from between the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries, especially of Austro-German, Finnish, and Russian traditions, and in sacred vocal music.

Independent of my main occupation as a scientific researcher, I have occasionally found myself scribbling matters concerning music. This website is, then, dedicated to the many hours of my musical pleasures, and includes pieces I have written for the Seoul Arts Center, MusicWeb International, Seen and Heard, Bachtrack, Corymbus, and the Bruckner Journal

The blog is divided into four sections, namely concert review, recording review, interviews, and essays. I hope you enjoy what you read. Images and photographs on this site are either public domain images and/or used with permission.

*update January 2019 - the addition of a new section, i.e. Interview

*update April 2019 - the addition of a contributing reviewer, i.e. Vishnu Bachani
